Here are some new photos taken of Lakeside Speedway.....

Attached are aerial photos taken of Lakeside Speedway on July 4th. As you can see the property is devastated by the flooding of the Missouri River as is the farmers field to the West. The 2011 racing season is definitely in doubt. Which is also quite devastating. Obviously this is a natural disaster.President Obama has already declare...d Kansas a natural disaster State as of June 25th. This has to happen before Counties can apply for FEMA relief. To date, Wyandotte County has not been declared a disaster, so no relief is available at this time. This is more than discouraging. We kindly ask you to join us in placing pressure on our elected officials to help secure this disaster declaration. You can email our Congressman, Kevin Yoder at : yoder.house.gov. and Governor Brownback at [email protected]. (a prayer or two wouldn't hurt either). We appreciate your support from our many fans, our fantastic competitors, and loyal sponsors.

Thanks Marc & Page Olson

Was on 435 this afternoon, and I was amazed with the amount of water in the area. It looked like the water was still coming across the levee. Hard to see this getting any better anytime soon. I was with a bunch of people who did not know about the flooding in the area, and they were really shocked.

Anyone know if Marc will be able to put in for some federal disaster aid? If memory serves me right I believe the area has been declared a disaster area.

Hope it works out for him and the staff there. It is a sad deal.

JR/Marc,

Has the water started to recede out there? Haven't heard or seen any update on conditions in a week or so.

Hope things get better soon, and I'll be there to help when needed.

KS

I was there around noon today for a look, It appeared to my eyes to have went down a little compared to what I have see in the pictures. Water was around the ticket shack but it did not look to be in it, the gate by the RR tracks was shut and locked but there is still plenty of water around there so it seemed from the only advantage point had.

I thought my septic tank stunk when I pumped it last month,, Ha Ha the smell down there was worse.

It does appear that it's receding a little bit. Every little bit helps. I emailed Marc last night, but really until it looks like the water is going to be totally gone and the track is ready to go racing, we are still weighing the options.

Keep your eyes glued to LakesideSpeedway.Net, that is the 1st place that you will catch any announcements or releases at.

Thanks
Jr.

Thanks for your update jr, i havent driven out there! i seen enough of the pics to know it sucks! I really hope this water gets out so some repairs can be made atleast before winter, not that maybe a glimmer of hope is still for a few races this year.
Hope everything gets back to normal soon. thoughts and prayers to every one invloved and effected by this.
