Why has Lakeside not designated more parking area's for handicap parking? As more and more people attend the races there is less parking and the parking for the handicap is terrible. l asked a cop where we could park and he said we needed to get there early if we wanted to park in the handicap spots. I didn't appreciate his tone of voice. He then said we can park where the motorcycles park if we didn't block any of them in. Well, we found 1 spot because other's were taken up by cars without handicap license plates or hangers. If they allow handicap people to park there, then they should make the other cars move. They announced over the intercom a car with a handicap tag needed to move it's car because it was parked on a sidewalk? Well, where else where they to park? I would like someone from Lakeside to please explain to me why they won't designate more handicap parking and where can the handicap people park? Some do work and can't get there at 4:00.

I guess we just better get used to it there Fanofdirt..............I talked to the cops about it last year and damn near got kicked out by a "mouthy" cop.He absolutly refused to listen at all.He told me the very same thing then.."that I should get there earlier" I'm not real sure BUT i think they are supposed to provide spots based on the volume of people.OR something close to that. There are a couple of those "cops" that are very unfriendly whenever you ask them about handicap parking. So far I just plan on NOT ATTENDING any races there again. There are plenty of other tracks that provide racing just as good as Lakeside. It's a damn shame when Lakeside can be a much better place to go for our racing fix.Good Luck Fanofdirt,I hope you have better luck than I did.....

@ cacnkrm05 I tried that last year.
@ DCdriver, I totally agree with you and after last Friday we may not be attending Lakeside anymore. I don't even know why they have cops out there because they don't do a damn thing. Maybe they have been around the pit area when a few fights have broke out but they don't seem to care about anything else. They think they can talk like smart #$$(# and we have to take it. Well, they way I look at it, they will get from me the same respect I get from them. None. I am going to get with the police cheif and even if they are doing this on their own time, and if he says he can't do anything, I am going to tell him then they better not be wearing their uniforms. If they are playing rent a cops, then they need uniforms other then those that wear when they are on duty for the police dept. I am going to be checking out this and doing some investigations. I am also going to do research on the Handicap issue. It's pretty pathetic that you can get as drunk as you want at the track, say what you want to people and the cops don't care and won't get involved, but my gosh have a handicap person park in a spot the cops don't like and they will tow you car away. I wish that Mark would do something, but you would think the cops he pays would control the parking lot a little better. I bet they don't have to park far away and they are able bodied. DC, I will not let this go, and will keep you informed and anyone else that cares.

twice last year I was asked to move my motorcycle for the handicap\
access/parking issue. That only adds to the issues for the people that
come in on bikes. For me it just helps to make the choice to go the other
direction on Friday nights.

Smoker... so u saying u were put out by moving ur bike for someone who is handicap? Nice response.... god forbid u need the spot some day.

I have to agree with the do nothing cops that are there. I saw someone stagger out of the stands and head right for the car and drive away right in front of a cop friday night.

Im sure the handicap parking issue will b addressed.

Don't read anything into it, I went and moved the bike both times
with no grief to anyone, I work with handicapped people daily, I
understand their issues. The underlying issue here is the traffic,
parking & the way LakeSide deals with it or better yet ignores it.
no harm meant toward the handicapped, if that was poor wording on
my part, MY BAD!!!

Smoker, that was totally wrong of anyone to ask you to move your motorcycle. That parking is especially for bikes because you can't park them on mud. I wish I had been there when you were told that. I'm sorry but that was wrong. Plus, on Friday night a red pickup truck parked in the motorcycle parking space and there was NO handicap tag or license. Do you think they were told to move? No. You did nothing wrong and even had a sign telling you that is for motorcycle's. We parked there because it was late and there was still room for motorcycle's other wise we wouldn't have parked there. I would no more use a space for motorcyle's then I would handicap had we not been told we could and there still be room for motorcycle's to park. The parking period is a mess but that is because of the rudeness of people. And as far as all the drunks, the cops out there don't care. I experienced that first hand a couple years ago. I was told they would have to call in the National Guard to arrest everyone that was drunk. I guess it is ok to drink and drive according to the Lakeside security. Smoker, I will address making motorcycle's move for handicap people while I am addressing the other issues. I understand I don't have to go there, but why should people that want to support our local businesses have to go elsewhere?

No harm, no foul, it's not being dealt with & I don't have the time or inclination
to deal with it. When Friday night gets here I just point the bike south.
