I completely agree with you guys about the parking issues that arise with the designated parking area's,,,, About the only resolve concerning the handicap problem that fanofdirt had, would be to contact the track office,,,,not that would make any improvement,,,, I would compare that to complaining to JD about a incident on the track, and we all know how that would end up : laughing:.

Contacting the Chief of Police would do no good,,,,those guys are hired as "Private security Guards" they are not employed as Kansas City Cops even tho they wear the uniform of KCK. Actually the track can hire anyone as security guards if they want,,,,but you must have some kind of registration or something to do this in the city limits of KCK,,,, Im not real sure of all the legalities or how it exactly works.

As far as the intoxicated individuals out there,,,, there is no way to handle all of that,,,,you have a mix of private security guards and private property. And in addition it takes a while to process a DUI individual,,,and it takes manpower,,at least 2 Guards (employed KCK cops) to detain the individual,,,transport the individual and process him on the intoxilizer,,,, then there is the time in court for testimony,,, who is going to pay the officer that detains the individual for his court time??. Not the city of KCK!!,,,he/she was not working for the city,,, Will the track pay the Guards for the multitude of intoxicated drivers for court time?? And dont forget that the hearing can get continued several times,,costing more money for the Guard to show up in court,,,,, And I guarantee you the privately hired KCK cops out there are not wanting to go to court for such issues on their own time for FREE !!!. So, they are going to do the best they can and stay out of court by ignoring as much as they can ignore, and that includes some of the issues mentioned in this thread.

I may not be completely correct on all the aspects I have mentioned but I think you can get my drift of the problems of controlling the problems that occur out there,,, from simple issues to murder!!.

And remember that the security individuals are KCK cops,,they are expected to be mouthy types,,they are from KCK what can you expect.

I understand Glock what you are saying. My issue with the security is that they are not on duty for the KCK police department so I don't think they should be allowed to wear their uniforms. If they work security let Lakeside buy them security uniform's. Why should they be allowed to wear police uniform's, especially when they are only security and not on duty cops. I know what they can get away with, 3 cops and 3 detectives beat my oldest brother up in the 1970's just because they could. In front on my other brother who was under age at that time. There definitly was a lawsiut they all got fired and my oldest brother came out with a pretty penny, so I have a hard time trusting the police. They can get as mouthy as me as they want, because I won't hesitate to give it right back to them. I have met 2 at Lakeside that I like, but only 2. If a cashier at a grocery store or liquor store sales beer or liquor to an intoxicated person and that person gets in a wreck and hurts or kills someone they can be held liable. I wonder how Mark would feel if someone came back on him? I won't put Mark down because just maybe, and I know it will probably be a joke, but just maybe I will hear back from him. I don't see it happening, but I will give him a chance. We all know no changes will be made, but I am bringing the issue up and going to see. If people wouldn't use Lakeside as a place to go and drink and drug, maybe more would be willing to help us get Mark to actually face us and talk to us. I am sure not a lot will become of my issue's with parking, but I won't stop. I am going to contact the someome with the ADA on Wednesday if I have not heard from Mark. I will see what can be done. I won't stop until all my resources are exhausted. And again as far as the security is concerned, I don't think of them as cops while they are out there, because they are not. They are just security guards. Not that they guard anything or make anything secure. All I can say is we shall see, what happens. I know my 24.00 - 40.00 a week to help support the track doesn't mean a thing to Mark, but every week I hear of someone never going back. One day it will happen and there will be less people in the stands and less car's on the track, but still many other tracks to go to. That is the good thing.

Smoker,I totally agree with Fanofdirt. In NOWAY should you have to move a LEGALLY parked motorcycle to let a handicap park there when it is clearly marked motorcycle parking.I to have been told to park in the motorcycle parking area in the past when their so called Handicap area is full. This isn't fair to either the motorcycle or the handicapped person. It also depends on the mood of the sec.guard as to where it is and is not the place to park.On two successive weeks i was told it's ok and also NOT OK to park down by that "hill" at the end of the handicap parking. And just in what year are they gonna do something with that pile of dirt.I was told it is for future use for the corner parking above.Hell it's been piled there since they built the track and none of it has been moved a foot yet! lol
Good Luck Fanofdirt on getting anything done.Lakeside has seen the last of my money.
BTW Smoker is more than likely heading to Humbolt on Friday nights for his racing fix.Great racing down there and NO problems with parking OR "so called" security guards!

Thank you DC. I have never been to Humbult but will definitly check it out. This was my response from Lakeside, "If handicap is full, feel free to use motorcycle parking area." No other questions were answered. Did I expect more? No. Now, I bet you if I parked in the motorcycle parking area I would be getting a ticket or told to move my car. lol I guess I can carry a copy of the e-mail around with me and show the rent a cops that I have permission to park there if need be. That facility is becoming more and more of a joke every year. I hate to leave Lakeside because of driver's, but I can't see giving my money to the owner of a business that doens't give a damn about the people that are supporting him, his family and his business. I try as much as I can to support local businesses, but I guess sometimes you can't. It's a shame.

I figured that would be the responce you got.Same thing i got last year.I'm not sure where but you might try to find out just what the laws are concerning handi-cap parking in that area.Even tho it is "private" property there are laws covering this where the public is involved. Once again Good Luck

You are correct about Humboldt, they take customer service to a new
level for a race track in this area. Watch for the Orange 02 CadiWing
down there, I don't get there as often as I like right now, but on Friday
nights that where I go.
I don't hold it against LakeSide, I understand dealing with the handicapped
that's why I moved the bike. Clear out of their premises.

I like having the KCK police as security. I have been to several different tracks with different type of secuirty guards. The best is what Lakeside has. The worse is a random guy off the street with a security shirt on. The one that scares me the most is when there is a rent a cop with a gun.

I'm just curious what do you do when you can't find a place to park at Wal-Mart? Do you call the owner of Wal-Mart?

If you display your handicap placard I doubt you would be removed from the motorcycle parking.

I take it korfore that YOU ARE NOT handi-capped except for your line of thinking about this subject!Maybe you should have to go thru life like we do for about a month.You might be able to understand a little bit better about this situation......If I am having a good day I WILL pass on a handi-cap spot and use reg parking,and leave it for the person who needs it more than I do....IF i took your statement wrong then I appologize{sp}

PS.as for calling Wal-Mart,I'm sure we would get the same responce from the BIG boss there that we get from Lakeside!NOTHING
