At the auction I was one of a few track owners in attendance. In addition to miles of guardrail, golf cart, fence, kitchen and bathroom equipment, ect. I saw something that I knew was coming back to Atchison to be a part of ACR (Atchison County Raceway). When I saw the "Bridge" I knew I was not going to let all that history be cut up, melted down, and be turned into a washing machine. . So my most prize purchase of the day was the bridge and it will be resurrected in one or two pieces depending on available space at ACR. I would also like to establish a commemorative plaque with the bridge. If you have any facts such as year est., with biggest names to race while bridge there, or some event ect. let me know I might include in the plaque. My number is (913) 370-2520. Thanks for your help!!

Wow! This is awesome that you purchased the "bridge". Are you going to pull it up or cut it off at the ground? Thanks for saving such a great piece of racing history.

At least part of KCIR lives on. I live in Raytown maybe two miles from where KCIR was. I will miss going out in the summer and hearing the burn outs and seeing all the cars & up & down old Noland Road

Yes part indeed. I wish I could help you out with building a drag strip there. I really hate to see any track with that kind of history close. I would be really nervous to build any kind of a racetrack in a big city area not to mention my pockets are way to shallow. Hope you can find another venue to help you with you need for speed. ;) Might I suggest giving Grain Valley a try not exactly drag but give it a try you might be surprised. Check out their Friday night program. Just a thought
